Swifting Through the Guilt

Whether it’s a trashy TV show, extra-pulpy fiction, or nutrient-free candy, write a thank-you note to your guiltiest guilty pleasure.

I mean, if we’re talking the guiltiest of guilty pleasures and measuring it against how much backlash it would give me, it has to be Taylor Swift, right? I think she’s just terrific. As a person, she seems genuine, she’s business savvy and she knows what her music is and what she’s all about. Musically, I really dig her vocals, as they have a pure quality to them and I find a lot of her tunes terribly catchy. I can’t say I’m a die-hard fan and can name all her songs, but I do like quite a few. Anyhow, I’ll list some of my favorite Swift songs, which I’m sure are similar to many casual Swifters:

Her newest one, “Blank Space,” is pretty solid, too. So catchy and has a kick-ass video:

When “I Knew You Were Trouble” comes on, I’m inevitably blasting that one. It’s catchy, although has darker lyrics than one may think. I think it has to be said: Fuck the haters.
