My latest five-line, original poem is inspired by my current listen of one of my favorite songs, Phosphorescent’s “Wolves.” I encourage you to listen as you devour my poem to set the proper ambience.
Wolves at the Chambers
the wolves found me, knee-deep in the sunflowers
nothing picked yet, as they began picking at me;
they started with the fatty liver, living on what
remained of me, until they got to the heart:
hard to chew and with a hollow inside, too.
