When a poem flows well, boy does it sing and this one sings beautifully.
My heart is throbbing rapidly
I shake and stumble to life I cling
Yet I go forth with such unease
Knowing I am here just to appease
Please soothe my soul and let me rest
For I have traveled fence by fence
And in Gods name I have lived his test
By rules and broken torn out chest’s
These memories will come and go
But as I stand it shall be known
There is less to say and more to show
And life is worthless without woe
It takes the strong to overcome
And even stronger to be won
But mostly it’s the ones who shun
That know not yet what has begun
This notion is not strewn across
Nor written in the margins just to be lost
It’s found inside this captured clause
No battles won without cost
