Haiku Challenge for Aug. 18: ‘Policy’

Road House
Patrick Swayze as John Dalton in one of my favorite ’80s action flicks: 1989’s Road House.

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

So my personal
policy is to always
shrink from stepping up.

So my personal
policy is to always
stay away; say, “No.”

So my personal
policy is to always
be hard on myself.

The best policy
is to have no policy.
We’re all winging it.

People forget that
policy is molasses:
Its arduous work.

These days, nobody
cares about policy work
anymore; it’s fights.

“These days,” but it has
always been this way when it
comes to policy.

The bee policy
was to never, ever stop
its buzzing around.

But the lion had
a policy of only
hunting when needed.

Lion policy
was, “Be nice until it’s
time to not be nice.”
