Today’s haiku challenge:
My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:
prisoner without
walls, solitary, confined
within my own mind.
prisoner digs a
hole through his cranium to
maintain sanity.
prisoner of love
captured in its fortress, left
to freeze on the glass.
prisoner chained to
your love, begging for release,
so to live again.
prisoner chained to
memories, lobotomize
me to free me, please.
prisoner chained to
our memories; bury me
underneath my pain.
my brain, prisoner
to depression, deceptive
warden controls all.
my brain, prisoner
to anxiety, flooding
invisible nerves.
my brain, prisoner
to self-sabotage, asks to
be locked inside here.
prisoner in a
macabre play, tragedy
on an endless loop.
Very well written. I read them as a poem; each haiku a stanza. Guess what? Without the minor repetitions, it reads even better than the individual haikus.
