Haiku Challenge for Feb. 12: ‘Apart’

Creative Commons photo.

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my five haiku poems:

split me apart like
an atom going nuclear
contained to my chest.

split me apart like
rotten wood for kindling a
fire long since burned out.

split me apart like
a limp dandelion
with falling dead seeds.

split me apart like
deer carcass left in the woods
with poisonous meat.

split me apart like
a fragile chicken wishbone
holding our secrets.
