Poem: Midnight Sun

Enjoy another Patrick Watson song I listened to while crafting this poem:

My latest five-line, original poem was inspired by one of the street names I saw while doing one of my gig economy deliveries, Midnight Sun Drive.

Midnight Sun

the midnight sun makes a lunar eclipse of my brain
shadows dance in a rave where the hope light once did
until the shadows themselves tire of the darkness,
too, longing for the contrast of the light to return
and the midnight sun to bid its farewell for now.

A Creative Commons photo of the midnight sun in Iceland, which apparently is a thing!
