Found Poetry: Searching

If you’re not familiar with what found poetry entails; it’s essentially the concept of seeking out randomness in the world (words, phrases, etc.) and then using the limited parameters of that randomness to concoct a (hopefully or not) coherent poem. For this particular poem, I went around my campus and simply selected different interesting phrases and words I saw and gave myself a time limit to scope them out.

Searching

Group plans search

for a missing man,

a voice

an echo

to color our lives.

Group plans search

for brothers and sisters,

a voice

an echo

to color our lives.

Group plans search

for Neptune, God of the sea,

tipping

rocking

to color our lives.

Group plans search

for man, Timothy Leary,

tipping

rocking

to color our lives.

Group plans search

for the golden ticket,

injury

death

to color our lives.
