So, here’s the latest photography prompt out of Word Press’s weekly challenge:
Have you just run 26.2 miles, finished a long-term project, or met a personal goal? This week, show us an achievement.
Anybody that knows me knows I am likely the least hands-on person they know. I just don’t do well with my hands. I’m a lover, baby, not a fighter. Or uh, I can’t do construction projects or otherwise putting things together. You need something fixed in the house, a leaky faucet, or maybe merely a picture frame hung on the wall? Call someone else, I ain’t answering it.
However, I happened upon an IKEA dresser for my room. Long story short, I had been using a tinier dresser that just wasn’t getting the job done. Such is the wonders of modern life. So, I got a bigger one from IKEA and everyone knows IKEA is DIY — Do It Yourself. Just follow these NOT SO SIMPLE step-by-step instructions we have for you. It wasn’t easy, it took hours, seriously HOURS, but at the end of it, sure I had some materials left over and I’m not sure why or where they go, but that damn dresser is standing and works. I was proud of myself, I have to say, and I rewarded myself with a nice beer.

Haha. I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s even a bigger achievement if you’re able to do it with a partner without killing each othere!

Haha doing handiwork is bad enough, but enduring the torture with somebody else is almost unbearable! I’ve been in that spot as well π
