The final entry of three flash fiction entries I submitted to a magazine in 2014.
Avoid the kidneys and liver. You wouldn’t dig your fork into a septic tank, would you? Eyes are tantalizing, but acidic. Fingers, toes can’t be digested. Penises are spongy, useless. Go for the brain. Protein, glucose, knowledge. Slow-burning energy knowledge. Inhale their essence; watch for spirit heartburn.
Wash hands, clean plate, take a bite. Falls on the floor. Five seconds passes. No good, pork-sliver ruined.
