Haiku Challenge for Sept. 26: ‘Why’

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

‘why?’ hanged in the air,
a poisonous gas, killing
only me it seems.

why was the stupid
three-letter, one syllable
word that strangled me.

I asked you over
and over, ‘why?’ you only
stared with dead brown eyes.

why am I the way
I am, I ask my brain to
a knowing response.

why depression why
do you sit upon my chest
and take everything

why depression why
are you such a demanding
lover, scorning me.

why anxiety
why can others live without
you, but we’re attached.

why anxiety
do you wring me out like a
towel, dripping here.

flower asked the bee
why he keeps coming around
“I like your petals.”

zebra asked why to
the lion, who had his neck.
“This is who I am.”
