Haiku Challenge for Feb. 28: ‘Why’ (Part II)

Today’s haiku challenge:

This is actually a repeat prompt word from Sept. 26, 2020. My original 10 haiku poems for the prompt are here.

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my five haiku poems:

why does depression
treat me like dandelions
to be blown apart.

why does depression
treat me like an old attic
piling memories.

why does depression
treat me like I’m a stale cloud
who can’t brighten up.

why does depression
treat me like burial holes
for all my past selves.

why does depression
make me radioactive
to myself, others.
