If you’ve never seen Def Poetry Jam, I would suggest watching this brilliant one, which is sure to give you the goosebumps to get a feel for the poetic style offered; it’s from Daniel Beaty:

We are,” is undeniably powerful. You can see the passion and intensity in his eyes. I love it.
I love poetry, but I don’t think I could ever pull of this style. I don’t have that performance aspect in me, but damn if I don’t respect others that do.
