Building on an earlier post about this…
Check out this site that allows you to zoom in and out on the universe, going from the smallest known “thing,” the Neutrino (and even then it kinda goes deeper) and then to the largest known object in space, or rather, the furthest away known object in space, the Pisches-Cetus Supercluster Complex. I mean, fuck, we’re tiny.
At the same time, it’s pretty bad-ass the things humans have built that when put on a scale, like the pyramids or the Large Hadron Collider, is impressive. So, you know, play around with that zoom out feature, keep zooming out and it’s also neat to see how much we can see beyond our galaxy, as it, too, disappears into a small dust particle in the universe. Then reach the end. This. Is. Mind-blowing:
See all that static around the “observable universe”? Yeah, that’s a whole lot of shit we don’t know anything about. The scope of it is madness.
As always, I turn to Sagan.
very very Kewl post-it 😎 .. 🙂
