Haiku Challenge for Aug. 19: ‘Option’

Trouble with Harry
Courtesy of the Toronto Film Society.

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

When out of options,
they say man gets desperate.
More like despondent.

Option the story
of my life; film it in black
and white, with no sound.

Option the story
of my life; CGI the
adventure for me.

Option the story
of my life; Spielberg directs.
“Saving Private Brett.”

Option the story
of my life; Nolan directs.
“The Dark Night Rises.”

Option the story
of my life; Hitchcock directs.
“The Trouble with Brett.”

Options make it seem
like we have autonomy,
but we are just spokes.

She had an option
with me, and she made her choice.
“us” not included.

The bee had options:
This flower or that flower.
Beauty either way.

The lion’s options
were darker: This meat or that
meat; he has to eat.
