Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

near and far we are
like magnets that can’t quite touch.
polar opposites.

when you were near me,
everything made more sense, but
we still grew apart.

how do two people
so near to each other, grow
apart, near no more?

You are always near
my mind, never straying far,
but still far away.

near now means tension,
it remains unspoken, but
it still speaks volumes.

Bee was near flower,
ready for the landing, when
a raindrop derailed.

Bear was near the cave,
ready to take a little
nap for the winter.

Lion was near the
tree, sleeping with shade, sheltered
from tropical heat.

Thousands of books are
near me, waiting to be read,
holding their stories.

“near” is relative:
like time, it depends on your
perspective of it.
