Joplin said take a
little piece of my heart now,
baby: nothing left.
maybe I should have
given her my whole heart, and
not just the pieces.
when I gave her my
heart, a piece was shrouded in
dark cloud depression.
greedy depression
takes more than a piece; it takes
everything with it.
piece by piece I crack
along lines nobody sees
until death claims me.
