Haiku Challenge for Nov. 13: ‘Sacrifice’

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

sacrifice me to
your altar, I will bleed out
until you notice.

sacrifice the lamb
to the pagan gods of love —
unless I’m the lamb.

I sacrifice the
shooting star for the moon since
it always hangs there.

sacrifice is pain
of a different kind, like
gaining from losing.

love is sacrifice.
carving out a heart, and
they ignore the knife.

depression tells me
to sacrifice everything
to bottomless pit.

anxiety says
sacrifice everything now
to save tomorrow.

time to sacrifice
sanity to survive this
warped reality.

silent sacrifice
speaks louder volumes than does
the boisterous kind.

others sacrifice
to save the majority —
the names on a wall.
