Haiku Challenge for Nov. 25: ‘Trade’

Creative Commons photo.

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

trade me in for a
better model, one that works.
I’ll sit on the shelf.

I trade sanity
for reality release.
basking in madness.

we trade our pains like
baseball cards with hard edges
glossy collection.

depression offer:
trade anxiety for one
consistent numbing.

trade on love, passing
our hearts like batons aflame
hoping neither drops.

trade in all I have
to have my sheets warmed by your
loving skin again.

trade on the despair
selling books about the lows.
money brings no highs.

time to trade in my
skeleton; it’s rioting
in there to get out.

we trade our love like
cavemen gesticulating.
discovering fire.

I learned a new trade
today: the art of doing
nothing with a smile.
