Haiku Challenge for Dec. 10: ‘How’

Creative Commons photo.

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my five (yes, I’m still doing five!) haiku poems:

how to: break a love
in one year, a user’s guide.
handle with caution.

how can something held
tight slip through my fingers like
it was never so?

how: the foul stench of
decay clings to skin like flies
to bovine, waiting.

watch how the scowl of
resentment settles in the
heart’s hollow enclaves.

how: depression grabs
footholds, like I’m a mountain
that it needs to climb.
