Haiku Challenge for Jan. 10: ‘Light’

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 5 haiku poems.

light and dark balance
swimming the English Channel
my spirit anchor.

light flickering off.
his death without a rattle
more a poof of smoke.

the light of our love
befitting a powder keg
than eternal flame.

light set upon his
eyes burned ferocious, as if
he’d never seen it.

when he saw the light
of destructive salvation —
died in phoenix’s ash.
