Haiku Challenge for Oct. 31: ‘Horror’

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

a prompt so on the
nose, it burns the flesh right off,
leaving only bone.

my horror movie
is leaving this life having
not really lived it.

horror: another
day waking up, conscious to
pain sitting heavy.

horror is absence —
going without love, without
you here anymore.

horror, he leaps from
the bridge, not a splash, more like
an echoing thud.

horror at the grave,
grass before has no footprints —
never seen a flower.

horror, remember
kiss on dry lips becoming
a dry memory.

horror: misery
loves company, and I’m a
welcoming guest host.

the horror of a
front door visage without the
dog’s wagging tail there.

horror, I’m spellbound
to remember your brown eyes;
an open abyss.
