Haiku Challenge for Jan. 31: ‘Ultimate’

Creative Commons photo.

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my five haiku poems:

ultimate reprieve:
the leaf follows me inside
away from the snow.

ultimate reprieve:
squirrel scurries up the tree
away from the skunk.

ultimate reprieve:
reaching the shoreline as the
shark fin looms larger.

ultimate reprieve:
darkness lodged inside the walls
until the light naps.

ultimate reprieve:
pigeon dodges vehicle
swooping to the wires.
