Poem: Swimming Around the Sun

I haven’t done a five-line poem in a while, so why not start 2023 off (at the least the first week) with one? I’m actually thinking of turning this into a story, but here’s a “snippet” in poem form.

Swimming Around the Sun

i was swimming in a deep space ocean,

tugged by the allure of distant stars,

not noticing i was moving away from you

until i made it past the shadow of the eclipse,

and you were gone, leaving only ripples behind.
