Poem: Papa

The tears of the heart and soul can’t be dried

With a swipe of the hand or the edge of a sleeve;

Only from the memory of

A selfless and loving man

Will the pain of the present

Blow away in the winds of the past.

This is a picture of my grandfather a few years before he got terribly ill. He’s working in his office (which is located at his house) and even though I’d like to remember him for this picture – him doing something he loved – I can’t help but remember him through the above story.
