One of my favorite things to do is to arrive about ten minutes before I need to clock in for work; I sit in my car with the volume turned low listening to the classical music station. I close my eyes and relax. I find it’s a great way to slow my mind and get into a good mental state about work prior to the shift.
Now, most of the time — in fact, all of the time — I have no idea what the song is or what have you. However, it’s soothing and reassuring to say the least. I find violins, pianos and the like to be my favorite. On the other hand, if the tempo is too fast the song is not soothing at all.
With respect to classical music, I might as well share one of my favorites. Beethoven’s “Fur Elise.”
