Mangled

My latest in the Three Line Thursday weekly poetry contest wherein you give, well, three lines of poetry at no more than ten words a line (so thirty words max) based on the photo prompt by F.E. Clark. My entry this week was fortunate enough to win second place with this generous feedback from Judge Jim:

“Great imagery in its core with ‘muted piano keys’. A perfect fit and made me think of an angry person thumping away at the piano becoming increasingly frustrated at their situation as the thuds get louder.”

My entry:

Gargled membrane leaves only remnants of a
disavowed self, like muted piano keys.
You took it all and left nothing.
