Poem: Death Blossoms

Creative Commons photo.

My latest five-line poem.

Death Blossoms

Death blossoms beneath my skin;
the vines line my veins, as thorns
pulsate underneath, prickling my
veneer. I stand firm, using the ferns
to climb away from Death’s approach.
