Poem: Stumped

Creative Commons photo.

My latest original five-line poem.

Stumped

i’m the stump of a tree, left in the forest —
indentations of footsteps to greener pastures,
carvings of love broken beyond this canopy,
rot making a hollow nest for the raccoons,
and weeds beginning to cover up my story.
