Poem: Sometimes, You Just Know

My latest original, five-line poem came to me in that haziness before fully waking this morning. Based on true events, as they say.

Sometimes, You Just Know

words like a bullet the doctor is afraid to remove;
my brain caught them, a glass already shattered.
its echo a rushing river i can’t seem to outswim.
The look of disappointment on your face
became my own burning mona lisa.
