Haiku Challenge for Oct. 22: ‘Course’

Today’s haiku challenge:

My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. This was one of my favorites in a while. I had a lot of fun with the language and playing around with turn-of-phrases. Here are my 10 haiku poems:

course through my veins, ride
the wave of my love for you.
Drown in the despair.

I want off this course,
headed through its dark tunnel
gliding on the sides.

course correction, please
barreling to rock bottom
unable to stop.

this course I’m taking
is titled Self-Destruction,
and I’m acing it.

stop course coercion
I want to go somewhere else,
but I’m drawn to you.

this obstacle course
to go from bed to shower?
insurmountable.

our love was a coarse
course, cursed before it started,
but ended to soon.

step right up, one and
all to the depression course:
I can’t see; it’s dark here.

circuitous course
of life, more like carousel
that’s never-ending.

calamitous course:
started when I woke up, and
ended when I slept.
