Poem: Sun Stretch

A photo I took the other morning.

My latest five-line, original poem. I didn’t plan on writing about the first day of fall (today!), but it happened that way.

Sun Stretch

she aches behind the clouds, radiance fading,
as nobody sees her legs stretching to earth
longing to touch the timothy-grass,
to smell the approach of autumn
before the cosmos carry it away.
