Poem: Burning Epitaph

A photo from late last year.

My latest five-line poem inspired by walking my dog through the cemetery early this morning.

Burning Epitaph

i wake to my gravestone aflame.

the fire obscures the death date —

flowers on each side wilted to dirt.

all i do is walk in circles around it,

circling, circling, circling.
