My latest in the Three Line Thursday weekly poetry contest. 30 words, three lines, 10 words maximum each responding to the above photo prompt. I received an honorable entry for my poem with the kind judge’s comments:
“I CHOSE THIS POEM FOR ITS SIMPLISTIC ABILITY TO CONVEY MUCH. THERE MAY BE MANY LAYERS HERE, SOME SUPERNATURAL EVEN, BUT THE FEELING I DISCERN IS OF A LOVE, NEVER TRULY PRESENT, AND THEN ONE DAY THE VISITS STOP. THE ATTENTION IS WHISKED AWAY BY WHATEVER WIND BROUGHT IT IN, NEVER TO BLOW IN THEIR DIRECTION AGAIN. OR MAYBE THE LOVE WAS CARRIED AWAY UPON SOME OTHER GUST THAT TRAVELED SWIFTER. THIS POEM TRAVELED SWIFTLY TO MY AFFECTIONS WITH ITS LIGHT TOUCH AND HEAVY MOOD. I HAD TO CHOOSE IT AS THIS WEEK’S THIRD HONORABLE MENTION”
You were transient,
only passing through,
through passing me.
