Today’s haiku challenge:
My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my five haiku poems:
In this version, I’m
the accumulated soot
of a dead candle.
In this version, I’m
the yellow canary with
a dead song to sing.
In this version, I’m
the depression leaf blowing
death to the gutter.
In this version, I’m
the exhaust snow left aside
dead to the child’s cheers.
In this version, I’m
the tree splintered by lightning
in a dead forest.
