Today’s haiku challenge:
This is a repeat prompt from Nov. 20, 2020. You can read my first 10 haiku poems with that prompt here.
My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my five haiku poems:
she opened my heart.
out came the caterpillars
dead in their cocoons.
she opened my heart.
out came the pain, like scarecrows
amid a dead field.
she opened my heart.
out came the flailing shadows.
scenes from a dead reel.
she opened my heart.
out came the billowing leaves,
dead like scar tissue.
she opened my heart
out came the candle wax with
a dead wick in tow.
