Today’s haiku challenge:
My style is the five/seven/five syllable structure. Here are my 10 haiku poems:
boast with a hollow
chest, stirring up the echoes.
angry butterflies.
depression boasts its
deeds, scarecrows in a barren
field — corpses buried.
pain boasts victory
standing on charred body that
once belonged to me.
I boasted of us
not realizing I was
speaking in past tense.
trees boast of their height
to the ground until the ax
comes swinging around.
death boasts another
spirit broken and taken
fortifying his.
the adult in me
boasts at smothering the child
until old age comes.
moon boasts, rotating,
to whimpering, dying stars
stuck in the present.
boast my siren song;
I’ll bask in its wailing with
open, bleeding ears.
boast of the past, like
figurines collecting dust
sold at an auction.
